I will create a monument
in absolute symmetry –
perfect positive
and negative space –
to reflect your worth to me.

Within four sentinel towers
it will stand mirrored
behind a formal pool
on the banks of the sacred river
that guards us from our enemies.

I will inscribe holy words
on its white marble gateway
and throughout the day and night
the dome will reflect the colors
of your inner moods in life.

Within, your soul will rest
centred like a precious stone
and forever protected.
