Creative process: The role of technology in creative output

Technology is a creative output accelerant.

It frees creative people from drudgery.

And allows them to spend more time creating.

At one time, writers had to make quill pens.

Artists had to grind pigments to make oil paints.

Writers now have laptops and other advanced tools.

Artists have factory-manufactured paints and new media.

When used effectively, artificial intelligence (AI) and content management automation can help writers increase their creative output.

Not by using AI to do the writing but by using it to reduce time spent on non-writing activities.

Writers lacking creativity and writing skills are saving time by writing with AI but are using that time to flood the Internet with even more 3rd-rate content.

Innovative, creative writers, use AI to save time by having it perform basic tasks, such as initial research, for example.
