In his book Six Thinking Hats, de Bono says we need to bring a more calculated, intention-based approach to our thinking process.
We do this by acting ourselves into an improved way of thinking.
A “play-acting” approach.
“There is some evidence to suggest that if you assume a smile, then your physiology follows, and you become happier and less liable to be angry,” de Bono says.
The intention and play-acting aspects are achieved through the six-thinking-hat paradigm.
“The six thinking hats provide a tangible way of translating intention into performance,” de Bono writes.

White hat
Red hat
Black hat
Yellow hat
Green Hat
Blue hat
